Dr Keabetswe Modimoeng is the Acting Executive Chairperson of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). ICASA regulates the Telecommunications, Broadcasting and Postal sectors in South Africa. He holds an MBA from Regent Business School and PhD (Management Sciences) degree from Durban University of Technology. He is also a Harvard University Senior Executive Fellow and has completed an Executive Development Programme at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Over the years he served in various government ministerial boards in South Africa and various Public Affairs roles at Anglo American and Samsung Electronics. In November 2019, Dr Modimoeng was appointed by the President of the Republic of South Africa to serve as the Deputy Chairperson of the Brand South Africa Board of Trustees. He is an avid reader, former journalist and published poet. These traits earned him the 2009 Workers World Production Journalism award as well as the 2011 Sol Plaatje European Union Poetry Award.
